A small business website should make it easy for someone to understand what you do, decide whether you're a good fit, and take the next step. You don't necessarily need a huge website — you need the right information.
Most small business websites should clearly cover:
A good website shouldn't just tell people what you sell. It should answer the questions they have before they're ready to buy.
Think about what someone would ask if they were standing in front of you.
How much does it cost? Who is this for? Where do you work? How long does it take? What happens after I contact you? What's included?
Those questions can become some of the most useful content on your website — and they can also create opportunities to show up in search.
Your website should work well on phones, load reasonably quickly, and make it obvious where someone should go next.
Clear navigation, readable content, descriptive page titles, useful headings, accessible buttons, and a logical structure all matter.
You don't need a website packed with animations and features to have a good website.
You need one that helps the right people find the information they need and take the next step.
